Microtech's DOC is their newest folder that was a joint effort with Strider Knives. The knife comes in a double action, manual flipper, or auto only configuration. The handle is made of aluminum with grip tape inserts. Oversized jimping is also provided on the back of the blade and rear of the handle for grip.The blade is automatic ejection only. It relies on a thumb button which can be spun into a safety position to restrict the blade from accidental deployment. A visible red dot means the knife can not deploy, white indicates the knife is ready for action. The thumb button doubles as an unlock when folding the knife away.In this fully custom version, the handle is made from black T6 aircraft aluminum. A black ceramic coating creates a two-tone blade. The blade has a smooth tip that changes concavity after the point where a tanto would, A narrower slightly-concave region at the blade's base creates a crevice that lends itself to long stable cuts in thin materials, and also pressure point for blade penetration at low angles.
