The blade on this Katana XL is a traditional tanto style with no sharp angular break. The center of gravity for this knife sits at the lockbar where your index finger rests. The position of the pocket clip nestles in your palm with no hot spots even when held tight. A small area of jimping is located on the spine of the blade for additional grip.
The action is where we feel this knife really shines. The action is smooth, but sounds mechanical where you here the intricacies of metal parts and bearings moving and sliding. The sound of the clicking and clacking during operation is satisfying to those who love the mechanics of a flipper folder. The flipper tab is rounded with just the perfect amount of jimping to catch your finger and protrudes far enough from the handle to never miss.
The handles are G-10, hardware is steel, and the liner is steel. The blade steel is 14C28N.
