The H&K Turmoil isn't a terrible knife. I thought it was going to be, but it does have a satisfying operation. Is it as good as a Microtech Ultratech? Yes and no. The operation is MUCH easier to use and the throw of the button only becomes stiff JUST before the blade is actuated. This makes it easier to open and close rapidly (one of the draws to an automatic OTF knife).
The handle feels "budgety" and less refined. The feel of the handle is a soft velvet type texture and the handle serrations to increase grip are sharp (they work very well but can be uncomfortable at times).
The blade lockup is meh; about what I would expect. The only reason I would choose this knife over a Microtech Ultratech would be for the easier operation of the button.
