Details
This "skinny" version of the Gen 6 XM-18 folder is a small pocket friendly folder in both length and thickness. Although giving up its framelock status, no features you've come to know and love about the XM-18 have been removed. The titanium frame has been replaced with a liner lock and G-10 scale. The G-10 scale has the same features found on the titanium frame including a filler tab, reversible pocket clip, and lanyard hole. The blade thickness is now 3mm and the overall thickness of the handle is about 10mm (less than a 1/4 inch).
Operating the new Gen 6 XM-18 is a blast and the blade fires out like a rocket.
Our Opinion: The liner lock is recessed into the handle and we found it somewhat difficult to release. We would have liked to see the presentation side scale to be sanded down a bit for easier access to the liner lock. The silver lining is that accidental unlocking on this blade during use is nearly impossible.
